BUCHUA is an ode to the indigenous Muisca language, with the word itself meaning “dry,” which perfectly encapsulates the diverse arid landscapes of Colombia from deserts to dry tropical forests.
With each design, we explore the intricate relationships between the dry earth and the communities who rely on these lands.

Featuring our classic natural dye colors alongside new pigments crafted by the artisans, our soft textiles reflect the vibrant and earthy hues of the dry Colombian terrains. We introduce new collaborations with communities renowned for their artistry in wool weaving and hand-painted earthenware.

Zuahaza is a women-led social enterprise and artisan collective investing in artisan families across Colombia. In our business model, we reinvest nearly all earnings back into artisan training, educational workshops, materials, and community resources.
